As responsible business leaders, we have an obligation to lead and use the power of our people and business to help build a more secure and equitable society. Through Skills for Society, we’re giving our people paid time to use the skills and experience they bring to client work to help nonprofits digitally transform and address operational challenges to effectively address societal injustice. Based on recent LMC research, it is estimated that skills-based volunteering can provide anywhere from 4x to 17x more value to non-profits than conventional volunteering. That’s why our program scales the way our people provide and volunteer their professional skills to support nonprofits, whether that be through workshops, mentorship, projects or board seat service.
Our Skills for Society strategy provides an intentional, interconnected ecosystem of support to nonprofits and is inclusive to meet them where they are, while giving our people multiple entry points depending on their skills and schedule.
In FY23, our people invested over 340,000 hours in skills-based volunteering to help address the compounding challenges community organizations focus on. Some of the ways our people are using their skills include:
